This week I am going to rely more on photos than on words. My gardens are at their best in late May and early June.
< My newly planted Heuchera 'Lime Marmalade' with a giant (unnamed) Hosta given to me by a friend.
I found an old banister and painted it the cobalt blue that is featured in my gardens. This is a new bed that will fill in nicely over the summer.
Path into the front yard. Old pink rhododendron to the right and a deciduous yellow azalea in bloom at the front door.
Another view of the front garden with the pink rhodie front and center. Small, red weeping Japanese maple Acer palmatum 'Crimson Queen.' The Queen was the first new plant in the garden when we moved in in 2001. >
Dutch iris 'Eye of the Tiger'... my favorite Dutch iris...
Jacks-in-the-pulpit in a shady spot
Salvia 'Skyscraper Dark Purple' and Salvia 'Rockin' Fuchsia' in a pot on the patio. Since I don't have much sun, these full-sun lovers need to be moved into the sunniest spaces, thus the wheeled pot. Notice the Rosa 'Munstead Wood' just behind... colors fit together nicely.
Lots of cobalt blues in the garden...plants and yard art!
A calming spot to read or welcome guests.... >
I hope you have enjoyed my "garden tour." I would love to see photos of your gardens and will share them in a future blog.
